CRCBR Phishing/Malware Email Security Alert

Be on the lookout for suspicious emails

A number of our members are receiving emails that appear to be from CRCBR with a general attachment and request to open and review. This is SPAM and a technique called spoofing. Also, many of the spammers use a technique called phishing to acquire credentials to your network or install malware. Here are a couple of links with more information on spoofing and phishing. We have reported this malware attempt. Please note:
CRCBR will not send attachments unless it is specifically related to a CRCBR event or program noted in the body of the email (e.g. an upcoming class or event).
To protect your information, CRCBR, the North Carolina, South Carolina and National Association of REALTORS®, do not sell our member lists.
If you receive a suspicious email, check with the apparent sender before opening or clicking on links.
CRCBR has reported the malicious use of info@crcbr.net domain to the registrar (GoDaddy). Please delete any emails from that domain.

Request your IT to black list any domains that send spam/phishing emails.
