Last week was a good week for REALTORS© advocacy efforts as two top legislative priorities passed the House and were sent to the Senate.
House Bill 367, the Uniform Partition of Heirs Property Act passed the House with a vote of 80-28. This legislation helps preserve family wealth passed to the next generation in the form of real property.
It was an all hands on deck effort as our lobbying team negotiated with stakeholders and members participated in a Call For Action (CFA), which led to this bill advancing out of the House. Many thanks to those who participated in the CFA and to our State Political Coordinators for reaching out to their assigned House members asking for their support!
The Remote Online Notarization (RON) legislation, HB 776 also successfully passed the House with a 107-1 vote. This takes us a step closer to making RON a permanent solution.
Please stay tuned to future Advocates for additional updates as both bills progress through the Senate.
